How did you make that single focus effect? I must know!

I am a wizard with magical powers!!
Actually I just used the lasso tool in Photoshop to select what I wanted to be defocused and used lens blur. It makes for a quick effect. Photoshop CS6 actually has a lens focus tool that does it automatically. I only have CS5.
